Over to you

If you’ve been inspired by our activity ideas and have made up a great game of your own, why not send us a video showing how to play it? The best ones will end up on the website, and there’s a great prize for the overall winner: a tour of the King Power stadium and tickets to an under 23s match, provided by Leicester City Football Club.

The Rules

In making up a game, you need to follow 3 simple rules:
  1. You must be able to play it in a small area (2 metres x 2 metres)
  2. You can only use equipment you have lying around the house (for example toilet roll tubes, cereal boxes, cushions, plastic cups, soft toys, sticky tape, paper and straws)
  3. You must make sure the players and surroundings are safe.
Ask a grown up to film you demonstrating your game. You’ll need to explain:
  • what your game is called
  • how many players you need
  • what equipment you need
  • how you could make it easier or harder
You’ll find details of how to send us your film in the information for teachers section, and some examples of videos other children have made on this page.

Here’s a P.E. lesson plan you can use to support children in creating their own games.

Films should be sent to communications@leicspart.nhs.uk. The best way to do this is to use the free file transfer service WeTransfer. Simply upload the film as an mp4 file, enter the email address and click ‘Transfer’. In order to feature the video clip on the Move it Boom site, we must have a signed parental consent form for each child who appears in it. You can send these along with the video, or email them separately. Films should be no longer than three minutes long.

The winner of the overall best film will be notified on Friday 6 July 2018.
